"When One Door Closes Another Opens"

  1. I think this is a very valid point and shows that as a whole that we should just stride to not involve ourselves in so many international conflicts. Although we are directly involved, we must move on so we can focus on ourselves more and to also bring our troops home.

This really is the sad truth. My assumption is that this an American soldier, and if it is, I can really see the irony in this cartoon. It's really upsetting to see our country unable to catch a break. Before this cartoon, I used to think the words "When one door closes, another opens..." were positve ones, as if signs of hope. But in this case, the U.S. military seems to be thrust into one conflict to another. Overall, great cartoon.

  3. I completely agree with you Lawrence. This cartoon really does show not only the dedication and loyalty of our American troops, but it also shows the continuous hard work they must put in to keep us safe. For that, I am and always will be grateful. However, I do think the American government needs to realize that sometimes war isn't the answer, and maybe it is better to mind our own business than get involved. I understand that isn't exactly a situation for something this complicated, but it should be taken into consideration.

  4. Unfortunately, there will always be certain situations when the use of force will be required; however, I concur that we're getting involved in more conflicts than necessary. In this case, military intervention and action might most likely be the only way to shut Kim Jung Un's trap.

  5. It is possible that we are getting too involved in world affairs. However, as Linus said there are dangerous threats. We need to properly evaluate the potential of these threats and learn from our mistakes.
